Bill Evans is considered one of the most influential pianists of modern jazz and set the style for a whole generation of musicians, which include Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea and Brad Mehldau. Strongly influenced by role models like Lennie Tristano and the Impressionism of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel brought Evans introverted and lyrical sensibility into jazz. In his piano trios he made bass and drums of companions equal partners. In addition to his first Trio (1958-1961) with Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian especially his last lineup (1978-1980) with Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbera as the culmination of this interaction is seen. Bill Evans was born in Plainfield / New Jersey / USA, is in Manhattan / New York / United States died and was buried in Baton Rouge / Louisiana / USA.
